Louisa May Alcott's autobiographical account of her life with her three sisters in Concord Mass in the 1860s. With their father fighting in the civil war, the sisters: Jo, Meg, Amy and Beth are at home with their mother - a very outspoken women for her time. The story is of how the sisters grow up, find love and find their place in the world.

Little Women is a 1949 American coming-of-age romantic drama film produced and directed by Mervyn LeRoy from a screenplay by Andrew Solt, Sarah Y. Mason, and Victor Heerman, based on the 1868–1869 two-volume novel of the same name by Louisa May Alcott. Filmed in Technicolor, the film stars June Allyson, Peter Lawford, Margaret O'Brien, Elizabeth Taylor, Janet Leigh, Rossano Brazzi, and Mary Astor. The original music score was composed by Adolph Deutsch and Max Steiner. Little Women marked the American film debut of Italian actor Rossano Brazzi, and was the final film appearance of Sir C. Aubrey Smith, who died in 1948.
